Willard H. (Bill) Lee, 60, of Monticello, formerly of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 8:16 a.m. Thursday. August 18, 1983 in the emergency room of Clark County Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville. The Lees had been visiting their daughter in Jeffersonville.

He was born September 22, 1922 in South Bend, the son of Donald and Esther Fields Lee. His marriage was June 23, 1942 in South Bend to Kathleen Goheen and she survives.

Mr. Lee owned and operated the former W H Lee Implement Company in Delphi from 1955 until 1962 at which time he closed the business and became part owner of the Jackson-Lee John Deere dealership in Flora. The business later in the 1960‘s became Jackson-Lee-Pearson. Lee retired four years ago. although he is still part owner, and moved to Monticello.

Lee was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church where he was a former trustee and Sunday School superintendent. He was a charter member of the Delphi Lions Club, the Delphi American Legion Post No. 75. the Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge, Delphi, and the Scottish Rite. He was a 1940 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters. Mrs. Ed (Margaret) Hayden of Valparaiso. Mrs. John (Rosemary) Hess of Jeffersonville, and Mrs. Dan (Susan) Yoder. Rt. 4. Delphi;, three brothers, Donald Louis Lee of Mishawaka, J. Richard Lee of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Phillip M. Lee of McKenzie, Tenn., and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Services were Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Horn-Thompson Funeral Home. Delphi, with Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. Burial was in the Delphi Masonic Cemetery with military graveside rites.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
