Found in The State 27 May 1949: Mrs. R. C. Boswell, 78, died at her home, 434 Lincoln street at 3:25 yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Boswell had been ill for some years and had been in a critical condition for several months. Mrs. Boswell was born in Stanley county, N. C., in the vicinity of Oakborough. She was the former Cornelia Frances Austin. She was married in December 1890, and had lived in Columbia since 1904. With her husband she operated the R. C. Boswell grocery company. She was a member of Arsenal Hill Presbyterian church. Survivors include her husband, R. C. Boswell; four children, Mrs. Rubic Whitlock of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Carl Hallquist of San Diego Calif., Mrs. Willie Mae Cooper of Columbia and Johnny Boswell of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Ila Tucker and Mrs. Ella Tucker of Oakborough, N. C.; one granddaughter; three grandsons; two great granddaughters, and a number of nieces and nephews.
