Judith Annette Butcher, 71, passed away at her Horseshoe Park home near Berthoud, Colo., on Aug. 5, 2016, after battling three different cancers over five years. She was born on June 22, 1945, in Medford, Ore., to Howard Steifel Wilson and Luella Irene (Beers) Wilson.
She graduated from Crater High School, Central Point, Ore., in 1963. She was valedictorian (1988) in graphic arts at Mission College, Santa Clara, Calif., and graduated with honors (2004) in electronics from Pima Community College, Tucson, Ariz. Judy worked at various careers; including hairdresser, school bus driver, printing press operator, graphic artist, and missile assembler, retiring in 2007.
Judy married Robert R. Butcher, her high school sweetheart from Central Point, Ore., on Sept. 26, 1964. She raised three sons, living in Oregon, New Mexico, California, Arizona, and Colorado. She was a talented artist and created numerous paintings during her life. She enjoyed camping, skiing, off-road motorcycle riding, scuba diving, and going to the beach. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and her friends. She loved playing card games; including poker and bridge, and achieved the rank of Life Master at duplicate bridge in 2013.
Judy is survived by her husband, three sons, brother, sister-in-law, four sisters, three brothers-in-law, two grandsons, two granddaughters, great-grandson, great-granddaughter, chosen grandchildren, nieces and nephews [survivors names omitted].
She was preceded in death by her mother Luella Irene Wilson (Beers), father Howard Steifel Wilson, brother-in-law Ronald Tharp, nephew Ryan Tharp, and brother-in-law Michael Conte, all of Oregon.
