Lois E. Ofstedahl, 74, passed away at Kaiser Hospital, in Vallejo, Jan. 22, 2004. She was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., July 19, 1929, to Edwin Nelson and Evelyn (Peterson) Nelson.
Lois graduated from high school in her home town and was married to John Ofstedahl at age 18. They came to Napa in 1964, as a result of her husband's employment with Napa Electric, where he was employed for 20 years. She moved to Yuba City in 1992 to be near her daughter, Karen, and she returned to Napa in 1997.
Lois was a volunteer for Aldea. She loved to garden and go to the beach. She loved her dog, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Jerry Ofstedahl, who was killed in Vietnam.
She is currently survived by her two daughters, Mary Marsey and her husband Randy of Napa, and Karen Rubio and her husband Gregory of Orangevale; and one brother, Orville Nelson of Thief River Falls. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jocey Ofstedahl, Dustin Rubio, Jeffrey Rubio, Amilie Rubio, Michael Marsey and Rick Marsey; and her two great-grandchildren, Dustin Ross Rubio and Audrey Rubio.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., Napa. Rev. Robert Groves will officiate.
