ELKHART, IN — Jean H. Hicks, 97, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016.

She was born April 1, 1919, in Elkhart, the daughter of Howard Fischer and Cleo (Hauhn) Fischer.

Survivors include one son, Tim J. (Sharon) Hicks of Elkhart; three daughters, Suzanne L. Marques and Victoria L. Hicks, both of Elkhart and Rebecca A. Price of Edwardsburg, MI.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay M. Hicks and son Jon M. Hicks.

Over the years Jean worked as a secretary for several RV companies and a travel agency well into her 80s.

Jean loved antiquing, traveling and playing bridge.

She was the oldest living member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, as well as being a member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 181.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 in Olive West Cemetery. Pastor Tom DeFries of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will officiate.

Contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
