Henry G. Schmidt, 81, passed away on June 7, 2006, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born May 5, 1925, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and moved to Austin in 1959. He had worked locally at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Goodwill Industries and Augsburg Publishers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, and by his parents, Henry and Elsa Schmidt.
He is survived by his children, Margaret (Marcus) Mueller, San Benito; Charles Schmidt, Harlingen; Richard (Donna) Schmidt, Dexter, Oregon; and Cynthia (Charles) Ezzell, Lago Vista; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Abiding Love Lutheran Church, at 2:00 with family visitation beginning at 1:00. Interment will follow at the Forest Oaks Cemetery.
