It is difficult to determine which name to use for this native Cincinnatian who became the grandfather of the retired President of Mexico (2000-2006), Vicente Fox Quesada. His name variations include: Jose Luis Fox Flach. Joseph Louis Fox. Joseph Wilhelm Ludwig Fuchs. Joe Fox.

Please see our extensive 2007 book, From the Queen City to the Zocalo, published via The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Cincinnati, OH.

On p. 38, we are informed that he was born in Cincinnati, 14 April 1865, son of Louis M. and Catherine Flach Fuchs. On p. 39, is a picture of the church, St. Matthaeus German Evangelical Church at Liberty/Elm Streets (just past Music Hall) where he was baptized [Church demolished, c1960s]. He attended Old Woodward High School, on the location where the old School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) still stands on Sycamore (near Liberty).

In about 1897, Joseph Louis Fox removed to Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. [p38, From the Queen City to the Zocalo]

During his October 2016 trip to Cincinnati, Vicente Fox explained during his speech at the private cousins dinner that his grandfather died at home on his ranch, San Cristobal, Mexico.
