Veronica “Ronnie” Anderson age 87 of Edina, formerly of Le Sueur died on January 22, 2016 at Sunrise of Edina Assisted Living. Memorial services will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, Presbyterian Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from noon ~ 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, Memorial services at 1:00 p.m. Tea and cookies at 2:00 p.m. Veronica was born on November 1, 1928 to Alan and Veronica (Harvey) Moore in London, England. She was the eldest of 2 children (sister Islay) and grew up in Wales, several miles outside of Milford Haven. Ronnie graduated from Bristol University in England with a degree in biology and education in 1951. She taught in the UK for one year before moving to the United States to teach school in Kansas for one year. Ronnie married Dr. Jo Eagle Anderson at University Friends Church in Wichita, KS in 1954. The couple spent two years in Anchorage, Alaska and one year in Denver, Colorado before settling in Le Sueur, Minnesota in 1961 where they lived for the next 53 years. Ronnie was very active in her church and community. She was the treasurer for the Presbyterian Church for many years. Ronnie was the first woman school board member for the Le Sueur School system, worked and volunteered at the school during the time that her children attended school and for a number of years after they all graduated. She volunteered for the Le Sueur Hospital Auxiliary for many years. In her later years Ronnie greatly enjoyed volunteering at the Le Sueur Public Library. Ronnie was a gifted gardener who earned her Master Gardeners Certification from the University of MN and loved to share her knowledge and skills with all who were interested. Ronnie worked tirelessly for the Le Sueur Gardening club for many years. She also maintained a large and very successful personal gardening plot from which she supplied the Le Sueur Farmers market, the Le Sueur Country Club and many friends and acquaintances with fresh vegetables and flowers every summer. Memorials preferred to American Friends Service Committee, Le Sueur Garden Club and Le Sueur Library. Ronnie is survived by her children Ronica (Mark) Norton of Burnsville, MN, Alan (Patricia) Anderson of Apple Valley, MN, Duncan (Mary Hendrickson) Anderson of St. Louis Park, MN, and Marsha (Mike) Green of Durham, NC; sister, Islay Sayles of England; grandchildren Bethany and Josiah Norton, Julissa and Kelton Anderson and their mother Nancy Anderson, Jonah and Micah Anderson, and Tamsin, Sebastian and Tristan Green; many nieces, nephews; and a community of friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents and recently her husband Dr. Jo E. Anderson in Sept. of 2015.
