He was married to Betty J Miller (1934-2016).
A retired mechanic and US Air Force veteran, Roy was a resident of Dover and 87 years old when he passed away on October 21, 2016 at Henry County Medical Center.
Preceded in death by his wife, and by his brothers J D Byrd and Alfred Byrd, he was survived by two daughters; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Anglin Funeral Home, and burial was in Wofford Cemetery.
