Gary Allen Spence, age 82, of Powell, TN, passed away from complications of Alzheimer's Disease shortly before his beloved wife, Edna Mae Acuff Spence. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a beloved husband and father.

He is preceded in death by mother and step-father, Cora Spence Visocan and Tom Visocan; daughter, Patricia Spence Pruitt.

Survived by daughter, Debbie Spence Collins (Powell); grandchildren, Jason Bragg (Powell), Elizabeth Robinson (Jackson, TN), Matthew Collins (Atlanta), Lauran Collins (Chattanooga); great-grandchildren, Jordan Bragg (Powell), Makayla and Bailey Robinson (Jackson, TN); sisters, Beverly Medford (Springfield, OR), Shirley Murphy, Karen Haugen, Dea Shumpski, all of Great Falls, MT; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Hal Johnson, Becky Haun, Sara Pixley and Danielle Rickert.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2016, followed by a funeral service in Stevens Chapel, at 7:00 p.m., with Chaplain Frank Dudley officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, for a 9:30 a.m. committal service, with full military honors presented by East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard.
