Mrs. Catherine Jordan Davidson, age 86, of 119 Hetty Hill Street, Gaffney, S.C., widow of Mr. Bobby Davidson, Jr., answered the Master's call on Monday night, October 17, 2016, at her residence.
Daughter of the late Abraham Holmes and the late Lulu Holmes, she was born on July 30, 1930, in Gaffney.
At an early age she joined Limestone Missionary Baptist Church. While living in Connecticut, she Joined Messiah Baptist Church in Bridgeport. She was a graduate of Granard High School. Mrs. Davidson was last employed as a School Crossing Guard in Cherokee County. She is a retired employee of the Lydian Convalescence Home in Orange, Conn.
She is survived by five children, Mr. Bobby Davidson (Alma Jean) and Mr. Abraham Davidson (Deborah), both of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Catherine Elaine Crenshaw of Bradenton, Fla., Mr. Ronnie Davidson (Caryl) of Matthew, N.C., and Mr. Stanley Davidson of Gaffney; her sister Ms. Ann Littlejohn (Purvis) of Charlotte, N.C.; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; twenty-two great greatgrandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Curtis (Jay W.) of High Point, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22, at 1 p.m. at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. She will lie instate at 12 noon until the hour of the service.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home.
