Marie Potter Smith, 86, of Marshall, formerly of Eldon, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at her home.
Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Interment will be in Tol Wood Cemetery near Eldon.
Born July 31, 1925, in Plainville, KS, she was the daughter of the late James Tolbert Arnold and Martha M. Parkhurst Arnold. On September 27, 1941, in Tuscumbia, she married Wayne T. Potter, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1977.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Gene Potter and Larry Dale Potter; two sisters, Eva Sparks and Bernice Mullinix; and one brother, Ralph Arnold.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Hale of Eldon, Betty Sue Potter of Marshall and Tammy Price of Blackwater; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ray Arnold of the State of California, Harley Arnold of the State of Oregon, and Don Arnold of Independence.
