Violet Clare Wilson, 100, Belle Fourche, SD died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care.

She was born in Campbellsburg, Indiana on June 20, 1906 to Maude (Patterson) Brengle and William Brengle. She moved with her parents to South Dakota when she was one year old. Her father filed a claim about 20 miles South of Buffalo, SD, which was then just starting to build into a town. They ranched there for many years. She grew up on the ranch and attended country school through the 8th grade.

Violet married Durley Boyer in Buffalo, on Nov. 11, 1924. They lived on a ranch for almost 20 years until Durley became ill and could no longer do the work, they sold the ranch and bought a small motel in Buffalo, SD. They ran the motel for 10 years and in 1953 Durley died and Violet continued to run the motel for a period of time.

She married Eugene Wilson and they ran the motel for awhile until they sold it, and moved to Rapid City. They owned apartments in Rapid Valley for a short time before purchasing a second hand store and pawn shop in Rapid City. After they sold the business in 1967 they moved to Belle Fourche. On May 27, 1974 Eugene passed away and Violet continued living in Belle Fourche.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Durley Boyer and husband Eugene Wilson; two brothers, Maurice Brengle and Myron Brengle; two sisters, Dorothy Hanify and Fay Carbine; a son, Keith Boyer, a daughter, Laurel Birnbaum and two granddaughters, Jeannie Rail and Catherine Hanback, a grandson, Doug Boyer and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Ken (Nora) Boyer of Buffalo, SD; a brother, Elvet "Buck" Brengle of Spearfish and two sisters, Coty Burnfin of Belle Fourche and Wilma Negaard of Rapid City; fifteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche and for 1 hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche with Reverend Anthony Bradseth officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, South Dakota.

The family requests memorials to the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche.
