LINDA FAYE COMPTON, 68 years of age of the Belchers Fork section of Maxie, VA, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following an extended illness. Born March 19, 1948, in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Pauline Toddy (Hughes) Whited. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Harman Memorial Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43-years, Ronald Wayne Compton, July 17, 2008; 4-Brothers: Leon, Ernest, Earl and Eugene Whited.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Traci Compton and fiancé John Strader, Oakwood, VA, Donna Compton, Maxie, VA; 5-Grandchildren: Misty, Taleen and Michael Raymond Jude, Oakwood, VA, Stephanie Reese, Roanoke, VA, Nicholas Keen, Oakwood, VA; 6-Great-Grandchildren; 1-Brother: John (Shelby) Whited, Slate Creek, VA; Special Friend: Hazel Riddle and Special Pet: Gibby.
Funeral Services for LINDA FAYE COMPTON will be conducted Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harman Memorial Baptist Church with Pastors: Shea Shrader and Eugene Whited officiating with burial to follow in the Owens Cemetery, Prater, VA.
