Born in Hornell, October 14, 1940, the son of Walter and Mable Davie Nichols, he had resided in Hornell for most of his life. He was employed by Hanson Building Materials in Alfred as a cement truck driver. Leon served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965.
He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Irma Austin, 3 brothers, Kenneth and Wilson Nichols and Raymond Miner, and 2 sisters, Carolyn Smith and Helen Donovan.
He is survived by his wife Judy, as well as nieces and nephews.
Family will observe a graveside service with military honors at Bath National Cemetery.
