Faithful servant Frank Bova III, age 81, resident of Ponchatoula was called home to be with his Savior on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. He was born on August 30, 1935 in Hammond, LA.
Beloved husband of 62 years of Lucille Fedele; loving father of Michael D. Bova (Carmen), and Randall M. Bova (Anne). Devoted grandfather of Nicholas G. Bova and Blaire Bova-Wright (Tim) and step-grandfather of Seth Barker; great grandfather of Madison H. and Olivia M. Wright; and loving brother of Vincent C. Bova (Patti).
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Gennardo Bova II and infant sibling Mary Ann.
Frank is the former owner of Bova's Headmasters, where he served the Baton Rouge community for over 50 years, the most enjoyable of which, were those spent working alongside his sons Mike and Randy. During the course of his career he accumulated numerous tonsorial artistic awards including being named Hair Stylist of the Year for the State of Louisiana in 1976. After retirement, he kept busy in multiple business entities that he had developed. As a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Ponchatoula, Frank served the Lord each day with new found energy and excitement, dedicating himself to improving the quality of life of those in need, with his generosity and giving spirit. He lived life to the fullest, sharing his rich adventures and bounty of blessings with family and friends. Most of all Frank enjoyed hosting family get-togethers with homemade specialty dishes that only he could prepare. His enthusiasm and gusto for life will be missed by all who came to know him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm., with Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 N Oak St in Hammond, LA on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am. with Visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina will officiate, and interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.
