Mrs. Loretta P. Skeens Shepherd, 69, of Heizer Creek, passed away March 3, 2008 in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Loretta was a former cashier at Super America.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lloyd Donald Skeens.
Loretta is survived by her children Lloyd Donald Skeens, Jr. of Clay County, John Skeens and Fred Skeens of Cross Lanes, Joe Skeens of Poca, Lloyd Donald Skeens, III of Kentucky, Patricia King of Cross Lanes, and Arawana Skeens of Poca. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers Debbie Wheeler of Florida, Donna Fields of Kellys Creek, Connie Bennett, Norma Lee Bennett and Sandra Bennett all of Charleston, Dennis Bennett and Carl Bennett of Poca, Mike Bennett of Charleston, Billy and Jesse Bennett of Florida, Fred Garrett of Sissonville; daughters-in-law Kathy Eagle, Pam Williams, Tina Skeens, Susie Skeens, Cindy Skeens, and son-in-law Jesse King. Loretta was blessed with several grand and great-grandchildren and her beloved cat Midnight.
A celebration of Loretta�s life will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 7, 2008 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
