Mary L. Ruhmland

MISSOULA - Mary L. Ruhmland, 80, of Missoula passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Riverside Health Care Center of natural causes. She was born on Dec. 17, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Mary (Gregory) Waterworth.

Mary was raised and educated in St. Louis. She attended Principia University and received her B.A. in journalism. Mary also received her B.A. in psychology later on. In 1985, she moved to Missoula to be closer to family.

Mary was very athletic, enjoying tennis, swimming and skiing. She was also a very good horsewoman and writer. Mary will be remembered for her sense of humor, her wild spirit and her sense of freedom.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She is survived by her daughter Katrina and husband Ronny, of Missoula; and her son Bill Harwell of San Francisco.

Services will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Mary's name to Alzheimer's Association Montana Chapter, 2900 12th Ave. N., Suite 4E, Billings, MT 59101.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.
