Yvonne Hansen, daughter of Dr. Leonard W. Swestka and Evelyn Mickish Swestka, was born September 12, 1938 in Postville, IA and died February 26, 2004 at her home in Perry at the age of 65 years.

Von as she was well known, graduated from Monona High School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Wessels on January 23, 1957. The couple owned and operated a dime store in Monona before moving to Perry in 1971. In August of 1974 she married Jerry Hansen. She started running Von's Place in 2003, where her home cooking was always served up with a smile. Looking around her cafe you could tell she was very proud of her children and grandchildren and their activites. Von had been actice at St. Patrick Church both in the choir and playing the organ.

Von was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother Evelyn Swestka of Manchester, IA; four sons, Craig Wessels (Sue) of Watertown, WI; Joel Wessels (Kim Holcomb) of Perry; Eric Wessels (Andrea) of Dallas Center; Jamie Wessels (Lana) of Rippey; two daughters, Michelle Hager (Dan) of Perry; Amy Schroeder (Kirk) of Parker, CO; two brothers, Leonard Swetska of Oconomowoc, WI; Aaron Swetska of Minneapolis, MN: two sisters, Elaine Ashline of St. Petersburg, FL; Eunice Sills of Manchester, IA; and 17 grandchildren.
