ALEX BECHANAN DIES AT HOSPITAL TUESDAY MORNING
Was Rural Mail Carrier Here More Than Twenty Years
Alex Bechanan, age 67 years, reired dgenville rural mail carrier, died Tuesday morning at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, after a long illness.
He retired about three years ago after serving as a rural mail carrier here for more than twenty years. Mr. Bechanan was a member of Hodgenville Christian Church, where he was a member of the Board of Deacons and a former treasurer of the Church. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Athertoln Bechanan; one son, Harold Gordon Bechanan, of Cambridge, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Frank Vickers, of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
The remains will be at Williams and Miller Funeral Home in this city until Thursday, and thens will be taken to the Hodgenville Christian Church to lie in state until the funeral. Interment will be in Red Hill Cemetery.
