Frankie Spell Walker, 99, of Brunswick, passed away early Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, just two weeks prior to her 100th birthday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Creekmore officiating. Entombment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, with her nephews serving as active pallbearers.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Brunswick, to Franklin and Maggie Spell. She was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, and a faithful member of Glyndale Baptist Church and the Willing Cheerful Workers Sunday School Class. She was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan, and enjoyed baking her delicious pound cakes for her family and friends. She was affectionately known as "Sank."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton F. Walker; and her six sisters, Mae Paulk Hattaway, Mamie Spaulding, Lucille Harris, Essie Lancaster, Freda Smith and Lil Whisenant.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525
