Opelousas - A rosary service will be held for Tammy Louise Edwards, age 57, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Mrs. Edwards, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Tammy was the matriarch of her family. She was a beloved housewife who enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and transposing photographs. Of the beloved treasures she leaves behind include a handmade guitar and piano. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Edwards, of Opelousas, LA; her mother, Shirley Northrup Manchester, of California; her daughters, Melissa Lee Edwards of Port Barre, LA, Jessica Ann Edwards Aymond and husband, Tony, of Prairie Ronde, LA; her brother, Kenneth Manchester, Jr. and wife, Deanna, of California; her grandchildren, Andrew Fontenot and Jaxson Soileau of Port Barre, LA, Holden and Hayden Aymond of Prairie Ronde, LA; her niece, Melissa Manchester; her nephew, Kenny Manchester; great-niece, Kira Manchester and her step-mother-in-law, Yvonne Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Manchester and her brother-in-law, Frank Edwards and her mother-in-law, Betty Lee Renli Edwards and her father-in-law, James Franklin Edwards.
