Turner, Oregon - Paula Joyce Brooks, a resident of the Turner area died Thursday the 16th of June, 2016 at Salem Hospital after battling cancer.

Paula, age 60 was born in Seattle, WA September 4, 1955 to Paul Wesley Renfrow and Anna Lillian Fischl, and continued through life as Paula Joyce Renfrow. At age 9, she moved to Weston, OR where she attended elementary and Junior High Schools. At age 15, Paula moved to the Seattle, WA area where she lived with her brother Benjamin and completed her high school education at Lynnwood High School, Bothell, WA, graduating in 1973. She later resided in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA areas. With her many close friends such as Janice and Bill Hines, Ann Beller, and many more.

Paula was employed at Tektronix/Xerox in Beaverton, OR. for 27 years spearheading the creation of their customer advocacy team and program before having to take a disability retirement.

Paula married first to Stephen William Pettis on 10 June 1975 in Clark, WA., but this union ended in divorce on 23 February 1983 in King County, WA. Her second marriage was to Duane G Fournier on 15 March 1986 in Multnomah County, OR. They divorced 20 January 1993. Her third and final marriage was to Clay Brooks, a surveyor for the city of Corvallis on 15 September 2003 in Las Vegas, NV. They settled on a farm near Turner, OR in 2004 and resided there until her death. She loved her cats Baby Boy, Lucy, and Einstein, and enjoyed studying family history, gardening, making pottery, needlepoint, making gift cards, and growing flowers. She was of Jewish faith and attended Temple Beth Sholom in Salem.

Paula was preceded in death by her father Paul in 1962, her mother Anna in 1985 and brother Craig Cox and ex-husband Steve Pettis both in 2006. Surviving family members include her husband Clay Brooks, brothers Benjamin and Robert Renfrow of Seattle, WA and Dean Renfrow of Salem, OR., and of course her cats Einstein, and Lucy.

In Lieu of flowers, a donation to the Hesed Shel Emet c/o Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, or Temple Beth Sholom.

Services will be held graveside on Wednesday June 22nd, from 1 to 2pm at Waverly Jewish Cemetery in Albany.
