Kenneth Dee McGee 71, of Provo, Utah
My husband, our dad, our Kenny, our grandpa, our great grandpa, brother and, friend. Passed away on October 18, 2016, due to complications to clinical depression.
Our dad was born on July 16, 1945 @ 2:45 p.m. He was born at home to Harvey Leo and, Matilda (Burnham) McGee in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was the seventh child out, of eight.
Our father grew up in Orem, Utah not knowing he had played with his now wife. He went to and, graduated Orem High School. He joined the Army and served in the, Vietnam War. He was stationed in Okinawa as a supply Sargent. He received an Honorable discharge then, he married his first wife, Virginia in the Salt Lake City LDS temple and had a child (Marcy). They later divorced, then he joined the National Guard. He meets his second wife, Chris and had 3 more children (Shane, Jason, and Christie). They two also later divorced but, still received an Honorable discharge with the National Guard. Our dad then took his metal detector and, found his pot of gold named, Carol (mom). They meet in 1988, and dated a couple of years. Dad and mom was introduced to the Bolder Mountain. They spent time fishing, exploring, and learning about love again. They later married on September 28, 1990 and, added 4 more children to the family, (David, Sharyl, Lynn, and Bryan).
Our father worked in heating and air conditioning as a mechanic for about 35 years. From all the bending and lifting he later had to give up his trade. Kenny loved to fish, fly fish, artwork, carving, making lamps, making sure all us children had some kind of his talent in our homes. Anything his eyes saw his hands could draw it. He was very kind, quiet, compassionate and loved all of us dearly. He was a very private person and needed his space. He spent a lot of time on the bolder mountain with his brother (Phil). He loved to go on his 4 wheeler and enjoy nature and its beauties.
Special thank you, to Jesse McGee for all your love and devotion to your brother, Ken. He has really enjoyed the time with you these last few months.
Dad was survived by his loving wife and soulmate Carol; children: David (Mandi) Horton, Santaquin, UT, Sharyl (Todd) Cushing, Payson, UT, Marcy (Lewis) Bailey, New Mexico, Shane McGee, Lake Shore UT. Lynn (John) Call, Santaquin, UT. Jason (Rhonda) McGee, Provo, UT. Bryan Horton, Orem, UT, Christie (Noe) Monico, Layton, UT. Let’s not forget grandpas precious 24 grandchildren and, his wonderful 32 great grandchildren. We are all going to miss him so much.
