Jon was born April 12, 1955, in Valparaiso, IN, to William and Sharon (Harris) Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Williams of Chesterton; daughter, Becky (husband Larry) Hughes of Porter, IN; brother, Bill (wife Janet) Williams of Valparaiso, IN; sister, Stephane (husband Larry) Tonello of Pennsylvania; niece, Cristi Williams of Chicago, IL; grandsons, Sebastian and Aiden Hughes and his 19 yr. old cat buddy, Shadow. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Terry Williams.
Jon had worked for Mittal Steel, formerly Bethlehem Steel for over 42 years. He was an active runner; he participated in many local races with his wife, Vickie. Jon was a diehard Cubs fan ready for the next World Series. He loved the beach and enjoyed hiking at the Dunes. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing and family boat trips on Lake Michigan. Above all he loved his family and enjoyed his time with Sebastian and Aiden.
He was born and raised in Chesterton and proud to be a part of a small friendly community where he was a great neighbor and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, at the funeral home.
