Cohen, Maude Lucille (Zimmer), January 31, 1921 - October 1, 2014. Went to be with her Lord October 1, 2014. Born in Rock Hill MO., to Phillip J. and Maude A. Zimmer. She was the youngest of seven children having one sister and five brothers who preceded her in death. Maude was raised in Rock Hill in the home her father built, staying there and caring for her parents until their deaths. She worked for the Curtiss, Wright defense plant during WWII. She went on to work for the Rock Hill Public Library where she retired after 28 years of faithful service. She loved the library and the many friends she made their including her dear friend and boss Jean Wetzel. Maude moved to the Kirkwood House in 2000 where she became fast friends with the residents and staff. She loved the social atmosphere. Maude adored her Grand Kids and Great Grand Kids and loved it when they came to town to visit. She especially loved to spoil the Great Grand Kids, they were her JOY!! Maude battled many illnesses and adversities throughout her life, but they all made her tougher and stronger. Maude had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit and was always feisty! She loved to tell stories and loved to laugh. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Maude is survived by her daughters, Linda L. Thompson (Jerry) of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Nancy E. McMillan (Mike) of Ballwin MO. (whom she fondly called Her Girls); grandchildren Jerry Thompson Jr. (Colleen) of Spokane, WA., Mary Soehren (Larry) of Spokane, WA, and Mike McMillan Jr. (Janet) of San Francisco, CA.; great grandchildren, Madison Soehren, Chase Soehren, Max McMillan and Alex McMillan and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank BJC Hospice and all of the staff that were involved in Maude's care. They showed Maude and her family such kindness and compassion. And of course Dr. Glennon Fox and his staff who were by her side for over 30 years with nothing but the best care and love. She was inspired on her health journey by Dr. Fox through his support, faith and one of the things Maude loved the most, his sense of humor! God Bless you Dr. Fox.
