Abraham T. ‘Sam’ Beckham
Services for Abraham T. "Sam" Beckham of Philadelphia were held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. from John E. Stephens Chapel. The Rev. James Warren and the Rev. Tommy Miles officiated. Burial was in Sandtown Cemetery.

Mr. Beckham, 87, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, in Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in
Meridian.

He was a U.S. World War II Army veteran. He was retired from U.S. Electrical Motors. Mr. Beckham was a member of New Pleasantdale Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Jerry Cannon; first wife, Mae Beckham; second wife, Cora Beckham; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include daughter, Billie Copeland of Philadelphia; stepson, Tommy Cheatham of Metarie, La.; two sisters, Tommie Prichard and Theresa Burton, both of Meridian; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Rex Pike, Bernell Kittrell, Charles Pike, Joseph Mathis, Jacob Mathis and Clyde Pritchard Jr.
