He was born July 12, 1973 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of Mike and Cindy Oldham.
Mike was a 1991 graudate of Nitro High School. After proudly serving and protecting his country for 21 years as a SSG in the 1092nd Comabt Engineers, he retired in 2011. He served three deployments including Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2004) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2010-2011).
Mike worked in the Local 625 Plumbers and Pipefitter Union. He was a member of the US Military Vets M.C. and enjoyed riding his Harley Fatboy with them. He loved spending time at his camp and fishing and going snow skiing. Mike loved to lend a helping hand without even being asked. He volunteered time to help his community, assisted family and friends regularly, and his tenacious dedication to hard work was admired by all who knew him. He was a true gentleman, a generous host, and impressed many with his culinary skills.
He is survived by his two children Michael and Emily Oldham; girlfriend Tracy Easter; loving parents Mike and Cindy Oldham; sister Kelly Fluty (Jeff); nephews Mason and Carter Fluty; grandparents Jean Oldham, and Jack Gabler; uncle David Oldham (Wanda). He is also survived by several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ray Oldham and Billy Bowen, and grandmother Marianne Bowen.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Donel C. Kinnard State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers donation to his children can be made to City National Bank, 108 North Court St., Ripley, WV, 25271 payable to Kelly Fluty for the “Oldham Fund.”
