George Lonsbury -- PRESTON — A district resident for over 50 years, George L. Lonsbury, Sr., 65, of RR 1, Preston, died at his residence today. Mr. Lonsbury had been in poor health for several years. He was born at St. Catharines and had farmed for a number of years and later worked at Clare Brothers Ltd., Preston. He was a member of the Benton Street Pentecostal Tabernacle, Kitchener. Surviving are his wife, the former Hattie Waterman; three sons, David, Albert and George all of RR 1, Preston; and five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Thompson, RR 1, Preston; Mrs. Harry (Esther) Mazmanlan of Galt, Miss Grace Lonsbury of Kitchener; Miss Pearl and Miss Carol both at home. Eight grandchildren also survive. The body is resting at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted Friday, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
