Christopher E. Callahan, age 27, of Brick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016 after a long courageous battle with addiction. Born in Pt. Pleasant and raised in Brick, Christopher was a 2008 graduate of Brick Memorial High School.
Chris was a member of the National Honor Society. He was on the track team where he threw discus and shot put and he also played on the football team. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.
Christopher worked as an exterminator for his family's company, Callahan's Termite and Pest Control and was the canine handler for the bed bug detection dog, Bugsy.
He is predeceased by his two grandmothers, Theresa Callahan and Elizabeth O'Connell.
Surviving are his beloved parents; Michael and Susan Callahan; his sister, Brooke Callahan; his grandfather, Edmund Callahan; his aunt, Leslie Spencer and her husband, Don, Uncle Bruce O'Connell and his wife, Theresa; his cousin, Stephanie O'Connell and many extended cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick, NJ. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Martha's RC Church, Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
