Harry James Allen, III, age 60, of Los Angeles, California passed away at home after a long battle with health issues on October 17, 2016. He was born on November 15, 1955 in Los Angeles, California to Harry James Allen Jr. and Socorro Lillian Allen.

In 1984, he met Cynthia Sue Padilla in Los Angeles and they were married in Saginaw, Michigan in 1987. He worked at Thrifty Warehouse in California three years before leaving in 1988 and moving to Saginaw, Michigan. He began a job with Brooks Beverage Bottling Company until he pursued a long-standing career as an Operator with Delphi Automotive Systems, later becoming a Line Technician with General Motors. Mr. Allen was a member of UAW Local 5960. After many hours and dedication, Harry retired in 2006 from General Motors Orion Assembly.

Harry was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His greatest love on earth was his family. He was a God-fearing man whose church family meant a lot to him. He was a member of Holy Mission Ministries Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor David Howard. There he served with the Usher’s Ministry. Harry loved his pastor and 1st Lady. He had a great sense of humor, always making others laugh. He had a heart of gold and a selfless spirit. His willingness to help others, when he could, was endless.

Harry loved to listen to Smooth Jazz and his favorite guitarist, Carlos Santana. He also loved the game of football, especially when the Trojans took the field. Go USC!! Even though Harry was young in age his wisdom succeeded him. He always looked to instill that wisdom into his children and grandchildren. Harry’s determination and strength will be remembered and carried on by his loved ones.

The memory of Harry James Allen III lives on in the hearts of his family and friends; his lovely wife, Cynthia Sue Allen; children, Jason Lamar Allen, Hira Tatiana Allen and Joshua Alejandro Allen; siblings, Hira Patterson and Stephen Allen; grandchildren, Justin Hudson, Kalyce Jackson, Jazaria Allen, Jordan Allen, Jason Allen Jr. and Kendrell Stephens; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Harry was preceded into eternity by his parents, Harry James Allen Jr., Socorro Lillian Allen; grandparents, Harry James Allen Sr. and Hela Ruth Allen.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor David Howard and the Holy Mission Ministries Church family; the staff at Roosevelt Ruffin Community Health Center, and all of our friends and family.
