He was a lifelong self employed farmer in Kempton, and also a Cattle Dealer operating throughout the Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey areas. Russell was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli; a former charter member of the Kempton Lions Club and one of the organizers of the Kempton Community Center and a former member of their bowling league. He was also a peacetime veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy. He was an avid collector of milk bottles and various other antiques.
Survivors in addition to his wife includes three step-daughters, Jill H. wife of Bruce Hayden, Mechanicsville, MD, Julia R. wife of Gallo Priori, Emmaus and Jennifer V. wife of Joseph Juntunen, Fleetwood; a step-son, Jesse P.(Karla) Sterner, New London WI; twelve step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Henry, a step-daughter Jane Christman and her husband Carl W. Christman.
His Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Jacobs Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa.18066, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. His Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
