Rev. Thaddaeus Huneycutt of Locust, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Thaddaeus was born June 30, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Millard Filmore and Nancy Frances Furr Huneycutt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Josie Varner Huneycutt; seven brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Freedom Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Kinney Wallace and Rev. Wally Gilmer. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Lorene (Steve) Osborne, and Louise (Cecil) Hartsell both of Locust; sons, Edward (Judy) Huneycutt of Troy, and Paul (Tana) Huneycutt of Oakboro; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack Huneycutt.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Huneycutt family.
