"Earl “Buddy” Barnett, 87, of Ashbury Circle died at 7:19 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at his residence.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Calvary Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Glover and Terry Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Calvary Memorial Baptist Church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY he was born March 29, 1929 the son of the late Eugene and Nola Cotton Barnett. He was a retired farmer on the Orange Grove Road in North Christian County. He was a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church. He was a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Orange Grove Baptist Church for 51 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Cleatus Barnett.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Kathryn Grace Barnett; his daughters: Judy Crisp, Diana Orten, and Barbara (Wayne) Spain all of Hopkinsville; a son Ronnie (Shawna) Barnett of Hopkinsville; two sisters: Margaret Johnson of Dickson, TN and Wilma Patterson of Waverly, TN; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian County Special Olympics in honor of Lindsey Spain and Caleb Lancaster; 1409 Shallow Lake Circle, Hopkinsville, KY 42240."
