Wisey graduated from Holdenville high school and after graduation she enlisted in the US Army, serving as a surgical technician during WWII, receiving an honorable discharge June 20, 1946. She married Tommy Stevens May 27, 1946 in Wewoka, OK, and he preceded her in death July 27, 1987.
Wisey will be remembered for artist bead work and teaching others the trade. She enjoyed cake decorating, patch work. She previously worked as teachers aide at Wewoka schools and worked with the Kansas Home Extension Service for a number of years. She attended Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.
Preceding Wisey in death are her parents, husband, one granddaughter Teresa Harrison, two brothers William Goat and John Goat, four sisters Katie Goat, Kizzie Compier, Lucy Long, and Elizabeth Thomas.
Survivors include her children Tommy Stevens Jr. and wife Sandra of Wichita, KS, Mollie Dyer of Tulsa, OK, C Maxx Stevens of Boulder, CO, Lou Anna Stevens of Wichita, KS , Billye Stevens of Wichita, KS, Mary Stevens, Wewoka, OK, Sandi Stevens and Andrew Denton of, Shawnee, OK,Wayne Harrison of Ada, OK, and Rikki Reed and husband Jeremiah of Wewoka, OK, several grandchildren children and great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wake service will be Thursday, October 20, 2016 Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8PM with Rev. Lewis Johnson as Leader. Funeral service will be 2PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Kinney officiating and burial to follow at Goat Family Cemetery. Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
