She married her best friend, Marvin Lee Landrum, in October of 1978, at the Justice of the Peace in Guymon, Oklahoma. They have shared many years together. They attended Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
Her business career was with Homeland, Johnson’s, Marvin’s and Price Mart, generally as the Deli Manager. She loved working in the deli and helping customers, who later became her friends.
Her family recalls some of her favorite hobbies were fishing and cooking. She especially enjoyed making holiday candies, cakes and pies.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James “Jimmy” McFarland; her sister, Goldie; and her daughter-in-law, Marie Clopton.
Betty is survived by her husband, Marvin of the home; her sons, Loyd Clopton, John Clopton and Jim Clopton, all of Muskogee; her granddaughter, Samantha Sanchez of Germany; her brother, John McFarland and wife Clorita of Muskogee; her sister, Sylvia Battenfield and her husband Bill of Muskogee; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
A private family service is planned.
