US Army Major General. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers, as well as the Commanding General of Fort Belvoir, Virginia and North Atlantic Division Engineer. Among his military decorations and awards include the Silver Star, the Distinguished Service Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), and the Purple Heart (with two oak leaf clusters). He died at the age of 92.
