Roy William Black lived most or all of his life in the Woods County area. In his younger years he helped his mother along with his brother and two sisters run a gas station on Highway 64 near Freedom, Oklahoma. For years he drove a school bus for the Freedom School in Freedom, Oklahoma. He was joined in marriage to Reva Jean Hoffman. To the union were born two sons. Roy and his wife, Reva built a gas station near the Cimmaron River Bridge on Highway 64. Later they moved to Alva, Oklahoma.
