Mrs. Martha Ball, a resident of the High Hill community, died at her home this morning. She was born April 22, 1870 in Logan County, Ark., and was a devout Christian, having been converted at the age of 16 when she joined the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, J. M. Ball; three daughters, Mrs. Elene Johnson of Lawn, Tex., Ms. Marguerite Messick and Mrs. Helen Leslery, both of McAlester. She also leaves two sisters and a brother and a number of step children. The brother is Sam Cummings, Byers, Tex., her sisters are Mrs. Hester Ball of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Ada Murray, Magazine, Ark. Step children are L. S. Ball, W. C., E. W., T. S., J. C., Lola, Lela, Bettie and Nola Lee Ball. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Thursday afternoon. Humphrey's is in charge.
