DAVENPORT - Helen S. Reins, 98, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Runge Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born October 6, 1912, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph H. and Jennie A. (Tripp) Vogel. On July 18, 1931, she married William J. Reins at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1996.
Mrs. Reins was a homemaker. Her memberships included St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anne Ken Izaak Walton League, Golden Wedding Club, Q.C. Plus 60, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lady's Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Neal Hart, and son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Diane Reins; grandchildren, Jim and Cathy Hart, Kenneth Hart, Bill and Robin Hart, Steve and Rita Hart, and Denise Reins; great-grandchildren, Christopher Hart, Jennifer and Joshua Abernathy, Eric Hart, Summer Hart, Chris Davis, Stephanie Hart, and Courtney Hart; and great-great-grandchildren, Gabe Hart and Logan Abernathy.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Clarence Vogel.
