Virginia M. Todd, 77, passed away September 1, at her home following a long illness. She was born to Henry and Leona Cobb Martin of Collins, Ga. where she was taught strong morals as a farmer’s daughter. Mrs. Virginia played basketball during her high school years and graduated from Collins High School in 1957. She married Aaron David Todd in 1957 and resided most of her life in Evans County. Mrs. Virginia was a seamstress at Claxton Manufacturing Company and worked many years at J and J Green Houses. She also enjoyed being a seamstress, designing cakes for weddings and birthdays and was a lady of many talents. Mrs. Virginia was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron; parents, Henry and Leona Martin; and brothers, Paul, Royce and Dave Martin.
Surviving are her two daughters, Roxanne Brannen and Abbigail Wilder (Kenneth); three grandchildren, Angela Dawn (Jeremy Wood), Christa Gail and Casey Lynn (Mackenzie Louvieve); three great- grandchildren, Elijah James, Christopher Gage and Mandi Evelyn; sister, Montez DeLoach; two brothers, Ellis Martin and Pat Martin; a host of nieces and nephews as well as special friends and caregivers, Willene Todd, Marta, Radisha, Tatjana and our Affinis nurses.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 3, from 11 a.m., – 1 p.m., at Antioch Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m., at Antioch Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery.
