On February 16, 1967 Joe P. Durham was born to the late Rev. Arthur C. Durham and Wyceil Yarbrough Durham. Joe grew up and attended school in Timpson. He united with Clayton Temple COGIC.

Joe was preceded in death by; his father, Arthur C. Durham; brother, Cotrell McClendon; nephew, Eddie Cross; and niece, Stephanie Curtis

Two children were born to his union with first wife, Angela Roland Durham who preceded him in death.

Joe was devoted to cutting hair, officiating in SFA Chapter, and he loved carpentry. He was also known as "Slow Joe", "Meat Head", and he loved to meddle.

He leaves to cherish his memory; mother, Wyceil Durham of Timpson; wife Leslie Chancey Durham of Nacogdoches; 6 children, Eric Page, Joseph and Dexter Durham of Timpson, TaNasha Adams of Tenaha, Jasmine Durham, and Christinee Driver of Timpson; 6 sisters, Barbara (Marvin) Jackson of Timpson, Jennifer Osby (Steve) of Houston, Rusby (Johnnie) Furch of Fort Worth, Alice Ervin (Ernesto) of Plano, Pamela Durham of Fort Worth and Salatha Garrett of Nacogdoches; 3 grandchildren, Darious, Ki'Erie, and Eriona Page of Nacogdoches; 5 nieces, Myeshia McClendon, Elrena Watson, and Juanita Garrett; 2 special nieces, Carla (Cedric) Grace and Tiffany Curtis (Charles); 7 nephews, Terrance McClendon, Cotrell McClendon, Steven, Johnathan, and Brian Earl of Houston, Cory Jackson (Lynn) of Center, and Marvin Jr. (Anethia) of Nacogdoches; one sister-in-law, Sandra McClendon; a very special friend, Angela Driver; two good friends that were like brothers, Willie Lane, and Harold Caraway; and a host of other relatives and friends.
