Allan J. Zlatohlavek, age 73, of Manitowoc, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, October 14, 2016 at his residence.
Al was born on May 11, 1943 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ellsworth and Eleanor (Ozga) Zlatohlavek. He attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1961 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On October 2, 1965, Al married the former Sue Henning at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Al worked at Manitowoc Company, Invincible Metal Furniture and Jens, Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Homes for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc Yacht Club and the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Sue M. Zlatohlavek, Manitowoc; one daughter: Lori Zlatohlavek, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Tom (Christine) Henning, Fond du Lac; Terry (Cindie) Henning, Wautoma; Judy Zlatohlavek, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellsworth and Eleanor Zlatohlavek; one brother: James Zlatohlavek; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frances and MaryAnn Henning.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen and Rev. Gerald Foley will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Jens, Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Homes of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
