BARNYAK – Frank E., 95, of North Hollywood, California, passed away on July 1, 2016. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on May 23, 1921. Preceded in death by parents, Frank M. and Caroline ( Lena) Gabriel Barnyak and beloved wife, Mary. He is survived by cousin, Mary Frances and her husband Jerry Sandusky, his 'adopted son' Frank Galluzzo and his wife Donna and longtime friend, Roger Daniels. Other family members include cousins William and his wife Anne Biniszkiewicz, Jill Biniszkiewicz, Susan and husband Paul Acquisto and many other extended family members and friends. He was a 1939 graduate of Johnstown High School, and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Frank served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by Bell Helicopter Textron for over 40 years and was the Manager of the Van Nuys Division. For over 25 years, he and his wife, Mary, operated the Great Western Show at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds. As a patriot, he was an avid supporter of the National Rifle association, the Navy League, the B-17 Group, and the American Legion. He was an active member and patron of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation was held on July 7, 2016, at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary; and a funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Charles Church, 10828 Moorpark St., North Hollywood on July 8. Interment was at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
