Gary "Beebop" B. Hammond, 70, of N. Syracuse, passed away on Friday surrounded by his family. Gary served in the US Navy for 4 years and later served in the US Army Reserves for 30 years. He retired from Crucible Steel after 30 years of service. He enjoyed crafting with his wife (Woodworking). Gary enjoyed playing cards but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Gary was predeceased by his son, James "Beau" Parsons and daughter, Kathy LaFountain.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley; 3 children, Gayle (Mike) Furco, Kelly (Colleen) Warren and Gary (Lori) Ruddick; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Fox and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 18th 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Funeral Services will be Wednesday 11AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Howlett Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
