She married Clinton “Bud” Averill Jones on September 22,1943, during WWII. She had known him most of her life and they had attended school together.
Following graduation from Copley, Natalie followed Bud to St. Louis where she worked at Barnes Hospital and Jewish Hospital. After the War, the couple returned to Batavia where they made their home while Bud went to college on the G.I. Bill and Natalie worked many and varied hours at Geneva Community Hospital.
Following Bud’s graduation from Aurora College, they moved to Sandwich where he began his teaching career and Natalie continued to work at Sandwich Hospital. Moving from Sandwich to Capron, where Bud became Principal, Natalie continued her nursing at Harvard Hospital.
Returning to Batavia in 1950, they built their house on West Main Street Road and Natalie returned to Geneva Community Hospital where she was instrumental in setting up the Telemetry System for the Emergency Room. She remained with the Hospital, full time, for the next 37 years.
Natalie and Bud loved to travel and they were able to spend their vacations on the road several weeks every summer, camping with variety of equipment. Two of the trips they took were very interesting and a lot of fun. In 1970, they drove to Alaska and stayed in a tent enjoying nature along the way, and in 1978, they visited Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Other trips included: the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, various places in Colorado and the Southwest.
Natalie is survived by her daughter; Mary Bateman, and son; Robert Jones. Grandchildren; Aaron C. Bateman, Amanda J. Bateman, Kim Leal, Crystal Phillips, and Andrew P. Bateman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law; Sharon Jones, two siaters; Helen Kenoss and Jean Seaman, and her husband and traveling companion, Bud.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Moss Family Crematory of Batavia, IL.
