Elizabeth G. Davis (Betty), 97, met her Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. She was born June 20th, 1919 in Wheatland, Ok to Fannie and Frank Brandt. She was next to the youngest of ten children. Betty was a member of St. James Catholic Church in OKC until her husband’s death May 10, 1998. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Altar Society, and loyally supported her husband as a Deacon. Betty was devoted to her prayer life saying two to three rosaries a day for over 50 years. She was an incredible artist and we are certain family and friends will be fighting over her paintings. She loved to dance! Many times her daughter, Beverly, would call to check on her and Betty would answer her phone completely out of breath and panting. She was dancing, of course, to the music of Lawrence Welk. She loved to garden, cook, sew, and bowl; mentioning often her 146 average. She loved to watch tennis and knew the names of almost all the players. She loved OU and OSU football, the Thunder, westerns, the Judges, wrestling, and of course, QVC. She had an incredible sense of humor, and would laugh at herself often in her declining years.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband Otis Davis, nine siblings, their spouses, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Patti Davis, grandson Shane and wife Cindy, and great granddaughters Kendall and Shea Davis, and Madison and Bailey McKean. Daughter Beverly Feist and son-in-law Jim, grandson Guy Feist and his five children Zac, Karly, Jackson, Mia and Cannon; granddaughter Amy Simon and her husband Scott and two great granddaughters Nicole and Kamber Simon; granddaughter Amber Feist of Tulsa and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but greatly loved.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Jeanette Wedman for her loving support, time and generosity. She was a rock to her aunt Betty during these last nine months. We will never be able to properly thank her.
The family is also deeply grateful to Angela Martinez-Rojas and Daina Basset, CNA’s at St. Ann’s Nursing Home. As well as Heather DeMass, CMA, and LPN’s Daphnee MeChant Femme and Diana Cox. Their patience, love, understanding, sense of humor and healing hands made this journey so much easier. They became family to us all.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday Oct 21, 2016 in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery with interment following at the cemetery.
