INCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Bobby C. Parks, 85, of Elam Heights entered into rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Parks was born in Union, S.C. on September 15, 1930 and was the son of the late Thomas Brooks Parks and the late Lucille Bailey Parks. Mr. Parks enlisted and served his country with honor as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1956, serving during the Cold War, a state of military and political tension between the United States and Russia following World War II. Mr. Parks was a successful business person and was previously employed as an insurance agent and later owner of Parks TV & Appliance. After his retirement he and his late son-in-law, Lowell M. Thomas were very avid and successful fishermen. Mr. Parks was a member of Goshen Baptist Church and attended Lincolnton Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Helen S. Parks; four daughters, Kathy P. Thomas and LuAnn P. Beale and husband, Billy both of Lincolnton, Linda A. Parks of Augusta and Elaine P. Houston and husband, Reid of Gainesville, GA.; eight grandchildren, Russ Cartledge, Scott Beale, Ashley Goolsby, Brittany Cantrell, Tyler Beale, Lauren Houston, Savannah Rester and Kaitlin Houston; and numerous other family members.
Mr. Parks was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas L. Parks.
Honoring Mr. Parks' wishes, there will be a private funeral service for the family.
