Thomas "Tom" Hurst Sr
88 of Latonia, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He is a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and President of the Seniors. Tom was the president and football coach of the Latonia Youth Club. He also coached baseball for LYC, Beechgrove and Cottage AC. Tom retired after 37 years from GE in the Lamp Division. After his retirement you could always find Tom working in his garden. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Stella Hurst; brothers Gene and Hazen Hurst; sisters Gladys Burk and Ruth Ross. Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years Margie Hurst. He is also survived by his children Kimberly Smith, Byron Hurst and Shelley (Jim) Hays; grandchildren Brandon, Jessica, Jeremy and Halie; great grandchildren Noah, Leo and Reese. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Floral Hills Funeral Home from 11 am until time of Funeral Service at 1 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
