New Carlisle --- Edgar Stanley Larason, 52, of 313 S. Adams St., former owner and operator of E. L. Grinding Co., New Carlisle, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, where he had been a patient five days.
Mr. Larason, a native of Miami County, had become involved in a number of fraternal organizations in New Carlisle, Springfield and Dayton. He was a member and past master of New Carlisle Lodge No. 100, F. & A.M., past high priest of New Carlisle Chapter No. 57, R.A.M., P.I.M. of New Carlisle Council No. 143, Royal and Select Masters, past commander of Palestine Commandery No. 33, of Springfield Knights Templar, a member of K.Y.C.H. Ohio Priory No. 18, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley and the Antioch Shrine, both of Dayton, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and a past patron of New Carlisle Chapter No. 423, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Larason also was a member of New Carlisle Church of the Brethren.
He was born Jan. 5, 1928, a son of Guy E. and Effie Cress Larason.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; three sons, David M., of New Carlisle, Bill, at home and Dan of West Lafayette; a grandchild; a brother, Ralph E., of Springfield, and a nephew.
His body was taken to Trotsel-Chapman Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. Masonic services will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. William Kidwell, pastor of New Carlisle Church of the Brethren, will officiate at services at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church, where his body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
